Symptoms

The server console, or a player’s F8 console, shows an error from a product with no file name and no line number, or with ? in their place:

Causes

The product’s scripts are protected, and a protected file does not tell the game its own name or line numbers. The installation is not damaged, and reinstalling does not change the message. The error itself is a fault in the product. With el:telemetry left on (the default), it has already been reported to us automatically, with where in the product it happened. See Privacy and data.

Fix

There is nothing to change in your configuration. Help us fix it faster:

Copy the whole block as text

From the SCRIPT ERROR line to the last line under it, with the ? left in. A screenshot of one line is not enough.

Note what was happening

What the player was doing, and whether it happens every time.

With the product’s version. See Get help.

Check that it worked

The error no longer appears after the release that fixes it. The product’s Changelog tab lists the fix under Bug Fixes.
