Start-up and versions
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
[Dependencies] '<name>' v<installed> does not satisfy required version <range>. | element_sdk is outside the versions the product accepts. The product stops. | Install an element_sdk inside the range. Versions and releases |
[Dependencies] Dependency '<name>' is not started (state '<state>', requires <range>). | element_sdk is installed but not running. The product stops. | Find why element_sdk failed, higher in the console, or start it. |
[Dependencies] Missing dependency '<name>' (requires <range>). | The server does not know element_sdk. The product stops. | Install a product |
[Dependencies] Declared requirement '<range>' for '<name>' is not a readable version constraint. | The product’s fxmanifest.lua was edited or copied incompletely. The product stops. | Reinstall the product from the release. |
[Dependencies] Cannot determine version of '<name>' (requires <range>). | A warning. The version line of element_sdk cannot be read, usually an incomplete copy. The product keeps starting. | Reinstall element_sdk. |
[Sdk] Resource dependencies are not satisfied for '<product>'. | Follows one of the lines above, naming the product that stops. | Fix the line above it. |
Resources the product uses
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
No supported <Capability> adapter detected. Checked: [<resources>] | The product needs a framework, inventory, database, menu, text input or targeting resource, and none of those listed is running. | Install one and start it before the product. Supported resources |
'<Capability>' is unavailable for the rest of this session; … | Follows the line above in a player’s console, for menus, text input and targeting. The product keeps running without it. | The same fix. |
Resource "<resource>" declares "<capability>" but does not export "elementAdapter". | A resource on your server declares itself as a provider but is missing its export. | Use your own framework or resources |
Resource "<resource>" returned nothing from "elementAdapter" for "<capability>". | That resource’s export returns nothing for the capability it declares. | Use your own framework or resources |
The declared <Capability> adapter in "<resource>" is missing: [<names>]. A declared adapter must implement the whole contract. | That resource does not provide every function the capability needs. | Use your own framework or resources |
Attempted to set invalid job <job> with grade <grade> for player <id> | A product tried to give a player a job or grade your framework does not have. | Check the job names in the product’s settings against your framework’s jobs. |
es_extended rejected metadata "<key>": <reason>. ESX only stores numbers, strings and tables. | A product tried to store a value ESX cannot hold. | Report it. |
[<inventory>] <action>: metadata is ignored since … | Your inventory cannot do part of what the product asked, such as matching an item’s metadata. The product continues without it. | Nothing, unless the product misbehaves around items with metadata. If it does, tell us which inventory you run. |
Transaction failed: followed by the database’s own error | A database write failed. | Read the database error after it: usually a connection problem or a missing table. |
Configuration and language files
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
[Config] Config file for "<file>" missing or invalid. | The file is missing or has a syntax error. Every setting in it uses its shipped value. | Fix the syntax. A setting has no effect |
[Config] Config file for "<file>" declares namespace "<other>"; the filename decides the namespace. | The namespace field was edited, or the file renamed. The file is still read by its name. | Put the field back to match the filename. |
[Config] Config file for "<file>" declares scope "<a>" but the release owns it as "<b>"; the scope cannot be changed by editing the file. | The scope field was edited. It changes nothing. | Put scope back as shipped. |
[Config] [<file>] migrated config v<a> → v<b>. | Information. A file from an older release was converted to the new layout when the product started. The file on disk is unchanged. | Nothing. |
[Config] [<file>] missing migration step from v<a> → v<b>; falling back to defaults. | A file from an older release could not be converted. Every setting in it uses its shipped value. | Redo your changes on the file the new release shipped. |
[Config] [<file>] migration step v<a> → v<b> threw; falling back to defaults. | The conversion failed. Every setting in it uses its shipped value. | Redo your changes on the new file, and report it. |
[Config] [<file>] config file from newer version (<a> > <b>); some keys may be ignored. | The file comes from a newer release than the product. It is used as it is, and settings this release does not know are ignored. | Use the file that belongs to this release, or update the product. |
[Config] Migrations declared for "<file>", which this scope does not load; they will not run. | A fault in the product. | Report it. |
[Locales] Locale file for "<language>" is missing or invalid. | The language file is missing or has a syntax error. Its text comes from the fallback language. | Text is wrong or missing |
[Locales] extra "<language>" in configs/locales.jsonc ignored: <reason> | A language in extra cannot be offered. The reason says which: it is one of the game’s own languages, its key is not a file name, its name is empty, or locales/<language>.json is missing, invalid or not listed in fxmanifest.lua. The other languages still apply. | Correct the entry. Languages |
[Locales] default "<language>" in configs/locales.jsonc ignored: this resource has no such language, so players start in their game language. | default names a language the product neither ships nor has in extra. | Set default to a shipped language, to one in extra, or to "game". |
[Locales] setLocale("<language>") ignored: this resource has no such language. | A script asked a product that follows each player’s game to switch to a language it does not have. | Add the language to extra, or have the script use one the product has. |
[Locales] followGame() ignored: there is no game language to follow here. | A script asked a product that uses one language for the server to follow the player’s game. | Nothing to fix on the server. Such a product always uses active. |
[Locales] setLocale("<language>") ignored: no player to choose for on the server. | A server script asked a product that follows each player’s game to switch language. The choice is each player’s, made on their own client. | Nothing to fix on the server. |
Version check
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
[VersionCheck] <resource> is outdated: v<a> installed, v<b> available. | A newer release exists. Information only. | Update a product when you choose. |
[VersionCheck] Release catalog request failed with status <n>. | The list of releases could not be reached. 0 usually means a firewall blocked the request. Nothing else is affected. | Allow telemetry.elementlabs.net, or set el:versionCheck to "false". Server settings |
[VersionCheck] Release catalog response is invalid. | The list was reached but could not be read. Nothing else is affected. | Nothing. It is tried again at the next start. |
Key bindings
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
[Keybinds] "<name>" is already registered, returning existing binding. | In a player’s console. Two key bindings share a name, usually because the product restarted while the player was connected. The first one keeps working. | Nothing, if the key works. If it triggers the wrong action, two resources chose the same name. |
[Keybinds] Skipped "<name>", keybinds are unsupported on RedM. | The product was started on RedM. | Products are built for FiveM only. |
