Changelog

0.1.0-alpha.8

Free marker colours, a hidden world behind an open map, and a map that is noticeably faster to open and move.

Breaking

  • blips.waypointSprite and blips.waypointColor are now blips.waypointMarkerSprite and blips.waypointMarkerColor. Action: rename the keys in configs/blips.jsonc; the old ones fall back to the defaults.
  • blips.coneAlpha now covers the 0 to 255 range it documents, and its default moves from 60 to 153 so cones look exactly as they did. Action: re-read a value of your own against the new scale, where 128 is half opaque.

Added

  • blips.poiAtCursor places personal points of interest under the mouse pointer instead of at the centre of the map.
  • A marker can carry rgb, a colour outside the game’s palette, and bright, the light variant of a palette colour. Both are drawn on the map, in the legend and on pages.
  • visual.hideWorld hides every player, ped and vehicle while the map is open, so a transparent map no longer shows the world moving under it. A view can turn it off with its own visual override.

Fixed

  • A new marker no longer appears in the corner of the screen before jumping to where it belongs.
  • Setting a destination no longer freezes the game while the route is drawn.
  • The scale bar and the place name measure from the ground under the camera instead of the player’s own height.
  • A marker’s followPlayer, edgeIndicator and clickable now take effect when they are changed after the marker was created.
  • Pointing at a marker matches the marker the map highlights on a display that is not 16:9.
  • A marker kept off the legend with hiddenOnLegend, or made invisible with alpha = 0, can no longer be clicked and no longer stretches the area the map can be panned to.
  • A marker removed by another resource leaves the map as soon as it is removed.
  • A page is taken down when the resource that registered it stops.
  • The destination row in the legend follows the map’s own destination marker rather than the first marker it finds on the game’s flag sprite.
  • A marker whose name comes from a registered text key shows that text in the legend instead of the key.

Performance

  • The map opens faster and without the stall it used to arrive with on the frame the key is pressed.
  • Moving, rotating and panning the map costs much less per frame.
  • Markers that move while the map is open cost less to follow.

Security

  • The address of an embedded page is checked more strictly, and a host that imitates a resource on this server is refused. Addresses that were legitimate are unaffected.
