# Uninstall a product

> Remove a product from your server cleanly, and element_sdk once no product needs it.

At the end of this page the product is gone from your server and nothing else points at it.

## Before you start

* A copy of the product's `configs` and `locales` folders, if you might install it again and want
  your settings back.

## Steps

**1. Remove its integration first, if it has one**

If the product's `install` folder contains `windows-uninstall-hooks-…` and
`linux-uninstall-hooks-…`, run the one for your system. See
[Remove an integration](https://docs.elementlabs.net/get-started/integrations.md#remove-an-integration). Doing this after
deleting the folder leaves your other resources pointing at a file that is gone.

**2. Remove its line from server.cfg**

Delete the `ensure` line for the product, for example `ensure element_3d_pausemenu`.

**3. Delete the product's folders**

For example `resources/[element]/element_3d_pausemenu` and, beside it,
`resources/[element]/element_3d_pausemenu_assets`.

**4. Remove element\_sdk too, only if no other product is left**

Every Element Labs product uses the same `element_sdk`. Remove its `ensure` line and its folder
only when you no longer run any Element Labs product.

**5. Restart the server**

## Check that it worked

The console no longer mentions the product, and no other resource reports that it cannot find a file
starting with `@element_3d_pausemenu/`. If one does, it still has the integration line: delete that
line from its `fxmanifest.lua` by hand.
